You will notice a higher PCRF on your bill this month.
On your bill each month, NVEC’s fixed residential rates are denoted as follows:
- Fixed Charge - $17.50 per month, per meter.
- Energy Charge- $.094167/kWh (NVEC Residential Base Rate)
- SCRF- Currently .01219/kWh (non-bypassable fee assigned to NVEC territory, out of NVEC control.)
- PCRF- Varies depending on cost of power not recovered through NVEC Base Rate
The cost of power is as follows:
-
- LCRA Energy Rate- .06487/kWh
- Brazos Transmission & Distribution Rate- .016/kWh (Brazos owns the Transmission Lines and Substations in our territory.)
- ERCOT Ancillary Service Fees- varies depending on market rates and NVEC load share.
The Fixed Charge and Energy Charge do not vary. Because our base rate does not change, NVEC accounts for the changes in wholesale electricity cost by adjusting the PCRF on your bill each month.
The extreme heat caused the price of megawatts to increase to $4,500/MWh. Our pass-through charges from ERCOT Ancillary Service fees increased by over forty percent.
