2013 Government in Action Youth Tour

Dear Member,

Navasota Valley Electric is sponsoring two (2) students for the “Government in Action Youth Tour” to Washington D. C.

The dates of the tour are June 13-June 21, 2013.  Included are air transportation, meals, lodging, insurance and admission charges associated with the tour.  The only money the youth needs to bring is for souvenirs, film, snacks, etc.  Candidates must be Juniors or Seniors.

Students need to write an essay on “The Changing World of Electricity” – Tell us what is happening in the electric utility industry and how these changes will affect YOU as a future consumer.  All entries need to be received in our office no later than February 10, 2013.  A judging committee will select the two finalists.

Their parents must be members of this Cooperative.  Winning participants MUST attend the NVEC Scholarship Banquet in August 2013.   

On a separate paper attached to the essay, they need to include: their name, parent’s names and addresses, telephone numbers and school name.

It will be 8 days of nonstop education and fun – an experience for any student to remember.
